When breaking the fast
As the sun heads to the west –
The sweet taste of dates
When breaking the fast
As the sun heads to the west –
The sweet taste of dates
Motions of bowing
Kneeling and heads prostrated –
Sunlight through stained glass
Light from the full moon
In total serenity –
Prostrating on grass
Through the shop window
There’s a man knelt in prayer –
Cars, people pass by
Between the two mosques
Sea of colourful tulips –
Seated, he sketches
To reclaim a name
With such negativity –
Seeker of knowledge
One must seek knowledge
Go as far unto China –
Prophet Muhammad
Of light and guidance
Poetic and rhythmic flow
Unchanged to the dot
Ponder and reflect
Think about your surroundings
Signs and proof of God
Jews accept him not
Christians see him as divine —
Prophet of Islam
